Carsie Blanton
ALL AGES SEATED SHOW LIMITED NUMBER OF PREMIUM SEATING TICKETS AVAILABLE CARSIE BLANTON Carsie Blanton is a songwriter with hooks, chutzpah, and revolutionary optimism. “It is possible to face the world as it is – rapidly heating, ruled by grifters, ravaged by profitable wars – and still have hope,” she says of her newest release, After the Revolution. “Not the narrow, grasping hope you might hang on an election or a billionaire, but a patient, zoomed-out hope.” Of After the Revolution, NPR’s Fresh Air says “”Protest music tends to be strident or self-righteous or just bluntly angry. But Blanton, a folk singer with a rock attitude, knows how to construct songs with real melodies and storylines that don’t obscure her messages.” With her unique mix of humor, craft, and social critique, Blanton has amassed a small menagerie of viral hits (Rich People, Shit List, Fishin’ With You) and a dedicated fan base. In addition to fifteen years on the road with her band, Blanton volunteers as a political organizer, and was recently published in The Nation. Her latest full-length album After the Revolution, produced by Grammy-winner Tyler Chester, came out on March 21st. In summer of 2024, Blanton began releasing her most viral political songs on a new EP, The Red Album Vol. 1.

The Local Honeys
ALL AGES STANDING ROOM ONLY THE LOCAL HONEYS Though many artists are defined by place, only a handful of artists come to define the places they’re from. The Local Honeys are Kentucky and Kentucky runs through their veins like an unbridled racehorse. When a master songsmith like Tom T Hall calls an artist “a great credit to a wonderful Kentucky tradition” it’s time to pull up a chair and pay attention. As it pertains to The Local Honeys he was right on the money. For almost a decade the duo (Montana Hobbs and Linda Jean Stokley) have been an integral part of the Kentucky musicscape. They’ve paid their dues, garnering countless accolades and accomplishments (tours with Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, praise from the New York Times) and have become the defining sound of real deal, honest-to-god Kentucky music. With their self-titled debut on La Honda Records, (home of some of today’s most gifted songwriters; Colter Wall, Riddy Arman, Vincent Neil Emerson) the duo have set forth on a journey to create something true to themselves while pushing the envelope within the traditions they hold dear. Carefully crafted vignettes of rural Kentucky soar above layers of deep grooves and rich tones masterfully curated by longtime mentor Jesse Wells, Grammy nominated producer and musician (Assistant Director at the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music at Morehead State). “Jesse grew up with sisters. He was cut from the same cloth as us and we knew he would understand what we wanted to do.” What they ended up with is the most nuanced, moody, deep-holler sound they have captured to date. “This is the first time we’ve actively gotten to express who we are and where we’re from” says Linda Jean, “The songs on the album speak for us,” adds Montana “they’re about what we know, reflections of us as people. We realized we have the power to add our own narrative into Kentucky music.” Through that realization the two were able to uncover and dissect themes unique to Central Appalachia and in turn their own lives, capturing small moments in time that deliver thunderous results. The Local Honeys come from a long line of storytellers, a lineage of strong Kentucky women that aren’t afraid to tell it like it is and their self-titled La Honda debut is proof it’s in their bones. The duo have mastered the art of telling a good story. The narratives and landscapes they weave into song, the deep understanding and love they share for old time traditions, their undeniable charisma and charm, and their blatant disregard to follow the rules make it clear the duo is poised to become not only the defining voices of their home state of Kentucky but the defining voices of a new Appalachia.

His compositions for acoustic fingerstyle guitar are strongly influenced by his love of Celtic music and his own roots in folk, rock and blues. His recordings, music books, and instructional videotapes have helped to win him international acclaim and appearances on National Radio and Television Programs. Al won a GRAMMY and was awarded FORTY FIVE “Wammies” by the Washington Area Music Association including the top honors of “ARTIST OF THE YEAR” and “MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR”. He was the recipient of two Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards for Music Composition and performed at the Vice President’s House and The White House. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND GRACE DURING THIS UNPRECEDENTED TIME. ALL AGES – STANDING ROOM ONLY – RAIN OR SHINE Ronnie and The Redwoods is a West TexasAmericana/Rock band that has brought deep and emotional lyrics together with music rooted in the blues, folk, and country of the high plains. Honest and earthy, with influences from The White Stripes, Tyler Childers, John Prine, and the Red Dirt scene that surrounds them, they’ve formed their own interpretation of what happens when you combine Folk, Country, Rock n Roll and Grunge.
OUTPOST: Colin Cutler, Wild Roots, & AC Sapphire
– ALL AGES- STANDING ROOM ONLY- RAIN OR SHINE Colin Cutler: Colin Cutler is a Greensboro, North Carolina-based singer-songwriter, folk musician, poet, and storyteller toting a banjo and guitar. Whether solo or with his band, Hot Pepper Jam, he is a wide-ranging performer whose musical roots draw from the breadth of American folk music—from Appalachian oldtime to blues to gospel to country to rock’n’roll—to form what No Depression has described as “one magnificent tapestry of roots music.”. While his first few albums were directly inspired by his background in oldtime music, his most recent effort was even more ambitious and electric. Tarwater was inspired by both life and the earthy characters of Georgia author Flannery O’Connor, achieving “…a juke joint energy coursing through it and a humidity that seems to sweat out the sins and the booze that these characters are often soaked in” (Paste). The 2022 Winner of the Susquehanna Folk Festival’s Emerging Artists Competition, the last couple years have seen Cutler playing across the Southeast, with appearances at Merlefest, Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, the North Carolina Folk Festival, Antlers and Acorns Songwriters Festival, and the Carolina Bible Camp Bluegrass Festival. Wild Roots: Wild Roots is an independent, women-led band based in the AppalachianMountains of North Carolina. Headed by Julia Houghton and Olivia Moore, thegroup released their debut album, Wild Roots Rising, in 2021 and have sincecontinued to tour, playing stages and festivals across the country. Olivia andJulia have co-created music for nearly a decade and collaborate in many areasof life; in addition to being soul sisters, the two share a deep passion forsustainable living and environmental justice. While Wild Roots’ music celebratesthe joy of friendship and community, it also seeks to hold those in poweraccountable and question the status quo. Julia and Olivia harness their politicalpassions to shed light on issues of social injustice and the degradation of the natural world. AC Sapphire: Portland artist Ac Sapphire returns with the decadent new album Dec. 32nd, songs from a cycle that honors Sapphire at her best: guitar, and vocals front and center; celebrations of the songwriter, the shredder, that she is. Sapphire sits serenely among the songwriting class that is our generation’s Laurel Canyon sound. Ac’s music has a grasp on the cosmic side of Americana. She resides in Portland, but was once a desert denizen, and her southwestern exposure shows in the wide open, dusty, romantic sound of each song. She’s the winner of Relix Sonic Showdown, a finalist in the John Lennon songwriting contest. She’s shared the stage with artists like Son Little, long time friend Sunny War, and even been featured on a Shirley Manson (Garbage) song. Ac has played the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Treefort Music Fest. Even as this album is being released, she’s finishing recording another with New Song Music as the winner of their 2022 contest.
An Irish Christmas with John Doyle and Mick McAuley
ALL AGES SEATED SHOW LIMITED NUMBER OFPREMIUM SEATING TICKETS AVAILABLE (guaranteed seating in first 3 rows!) JOHN DOYLE & MICK MCAULEY An Irish Christmas with John Doyle and Mick McAuley brings to the stage an evening of stunning traditional Irish, British Isles, and original holiday music that will transport you to the quiet, small villages of rural Ireland through the songs, tunes, and stories most familiar to these two world-class artists. John Doyle and Mick McAuley’s nearly telepathic musical connection began in the truly groundbreaking Irish-American band, Solas. Now, both have flourishing high-profile solo careers and periodically come together to brush off some Solas standards and lots of their individual material, played together, for these magical musical evenings. Both natives of Ireland and each from musical families, John Doyle and Mick McAuley are true powerhouses in traditional Irish music. John Doyle’s influences include well-known English folk singers Nic Jones, Martin Carthy, Richard Thompson and The Watersons; Scottish singers Dick Gaughan and John Martin; fellow Irishmen Paul Brady and Al O’Donnell; and his father, Sean Doyle—probably the biggest influence of all. Having started his professional career at the age of 16, John went on to form the highly acclaimed supergroup, Solas, with Seamus Egan, John Williams, Karan Casey and Winifred Horan, which took the folk and Celtic music worlds by storm, in no small part due to John’s powerhouse rhythmic guitar style and innovative arrangements. Since then, John’s flourishing solo career, highly regarded solo albums, and in demand studio prowess as producer have made him one of the busiest artists in all of traditional music. He is a Grammy nominated artist for his recording with fiddler Liz Carroll, “Double Play”, has performed at the White House, was music director for folk music legend, Joan Baez, guitarist for Mary Chapin Carpenter, and has recorded and/or performed with a who’s who of folk, Celtic, bluegrass and old-time music, including Tim O’Brien, Jerry Douglas, Kate Rusby, Eileen Ivers, Karan Casey, Rodney Crowell and legendary Eric Clapton. His recording credits number in the hundreds. John’s original rhythmic and percussive guitar style has been emulated by guitarists all over the world. Widely considered the finest celtic guitarist performing today, John is also a powerful singer and highly regarded songwriter. Mick McAuley is an Irish musician, composer and songwriter who has recorded and toured internationally for many years. While his music is rooted firmly in the Irish tradition, he has been part of a movement which continues to push the musical boundaries of that tradition to bring Irish music to a wider and more diverse audience around the world. As a long-time member of the Irish- American ensemble SOLAS, he has recorded and toured nine albums with them and received widespread international acclaim. The Boston Herald hailed SOLAS as “the best Irish traditional band in the world”. A multi-instrumentalist, Mick plays accordion, melodeon, concertina, whistles and guitar and been a guest on many recordings and performances including Patti Larkin, Paul Brennan (of Clannad), Susan McKeown and Mick Hanly among many others. Most recently, Mick spent many months as accordionist for Sting in his Broadway Production, The Last Ship. Mick’s debut solo album, An Ocean’s Breadth was awarded Best Celtic Album of the Year by The Washington Post.

The Dirty Nil
ALL AGESSTANDING ROOM ONLY 6PM DOORS / 7PM SHOW THE DIRTY NIL If there’s one rule people should follow when approaching the Dirty Nil, it’s this: Never tell them how to rock ‘n’ roll. Ontario’s Juno Award-winning trio is a finely tuned rock machine that is at its best when the members are pursuing their penchant for thrashy riffs, bashed out drums, and levels-to-the-max volume. And on their fourth album, Free Rein to Passions, the band followed their instincts down to the note to produce their most authentic work to date. The Nil’s back-to-basics approach was a direct reaction to their previous record, 2021’s Fuck Art, a creative process that brought too many industry people whispering in the band’s ears, telling them how to polish and tweak their songs to fit on the radio or streaming playlists or whatever other arbitrary whims the modern music machine demands. “There were all these expectations and pressures, people telling us to try this or that,” says frontman Luke Bentham. “We’re by no means the biggest band in the world, but in our ecosystem it became hard to try to make all these people happy. We were given challenges, and I think we met them, but getting to that place, it made me realize: ‘If we go any further in this direction, then I don’t know what we’re doing anymore.’ It had gotten to a point where the creation wasn’t very fun.” In order to incinerate their apparatus, they had to destroy it completely. So as soon as Fuck Art was in the can, the Nil got back to having fun and doing what they love. They jammed away in their practice space for weeks, not overthinking anything or taking any external input. They didn’t sweat the small details or fret over transitions and arrangements. Less second guessing, more reckless abandon. It’s the same approach to rock they’ve taken since they were kids. “We had the best time pulling these songs together. It made me feel like a teenager in my parents’ basement again,” Bentham says. What came out was the appropriately titled Free Rein to Passions, a palate cleanser for the Dirty Nil, and a reminder for them to stick to the fundamentals of rock and stay true to themselves. “What was it LCD Soundsystem said about trading in guitars for turntables and synthesizers?” Bentham laughs. “I’d say that’s unlikely for us.” Staring into the abyss of entertainment serfdom, the trio spat on it. They smashed the chalice of poison brought to their lips, grinding the shards under their heels. A rock and roll band is partreligion, part small business and part pirate ship. Sabres were wielded and planks were walked for The Dirty Nil to bring Free Rein to Passions into this world. It was a battle well worth fighting. GRUMPSTER HOUSE & HOME
