The March Violets
ALL AGESSTANDING ROOM ONLYTHE MARCH VIOLETS Once Upon A Time In Leeds, 1981. The March Violets strummed their first riff and scrawled their first set list. An impressive post-punk legacy ensued, including BBC sessions for John Peel and other DJs, along with huge indie chart success in the mid-’80s with singles such as ‘Crow Baby’, ‘Snake Dance’, ‘Walk Into The Sun’ and ‘Deep’. The band were subsequently snapped up by London Records for the 1987 release of ’Turn To The Sky’ – which featured in the John Hughes movie Some Kind of Wonderful – before splitting up later that same year.They eventually reunited in 2010 around a nucleus that included founder members Rosie Garland (vocals) and Tom Ashton (guitar), releasing albums in 2013 and 2015 and promoting them with European and US tours.A double album collection of the BBC sessions entitled ‘Big Soul Kiss’ was made available by Jungle Records for the 2021 edition of Record Store Day, with the same label issuing the singles compilation ‘Play Loud Play Purple’ and five-CD box set ‘The Palace Of Infinite Darkness’ shortly after. These coincided with a well received European tour that included headlining sets at Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) in Germany and Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival (Whitby Goth Weekend) in the UK.“Fantastic, post-punk shrapnel guitar from founder member Tom Ashton and the strikingly scary, esoteric beauty of Rosie Garland. Out on 19th July, it will be promoted with a launch show in London at The Garage (20th), followed by Rebellion festival in Blackpool on 2nd August and other TBC dates. A single and video for the song ‘Hammer The Last Nail’ precedes the album in mid-June. With synths trapped in the loving arms of the 1980’s, rhythmic percussion and drums inspired by dark dance floors, Rosegarden Funeral Party prove to be the second-coming of traditional goth.

– ALL AGES- STANDING ROOM ONLY- RAIN OR SHINE Moving back to Western North Carolina after 13 years of working as a professional musicianin Maui, Will Hartz joined forces with The Midwives, a session band, at Echo MountainRecording in Asheville, NC. The band is a collaboration between Zack Page on bass,Nashville based Herschel VanDyke on drums, Muddy Welles on lead guitar and Jim Aaron onharmonica. Members of The Midwives have recorded and performed with artists such asElizabeth Cook, Casey Kristofferson, Amy Nelson, Krave Amiko and more. Hartz’s debutalbum, “Easy”, also features guest appearances from Jamar Woods on Hammond B3 (SleepAlone and Heavy Door) and Casey James on pedal steel guitar (Show Me).Over two days, they rehearsed and recorded eight tracks at Echo Mountain Recording inAsheville, NC with Grammy award winning engineer Julian Dreyer at the board (engineeringand mixing), Autumn Greenfield producing and Kenny Harrington assisting. The album will bereleased online and on a limited vinyl run, with digital and vinyl mastering done by Dave Harrisat Studio B Mastering in Charlotte. The songs on the album were tracked live in the studio,with minimal overdubs, and prerelease reviews of “Easy” have compared this LP to earlyBlack Crowes more than once.The album releases digitally worldwide on May 17, 2024 and a limited run of vinyl will beavailable for sale at the vinyl release show on June 20, 2024 with Santiago y Los Gatosopening the evening.

– ALL AGES- STANDING ROOM ONLY- RAIN OR SHINE Goings: Formed in Philadelphia, Goings faced a turning point in 2020. With the release of their debut album “It’s For You” and a global pandemic shutting down live shows, the band, consisting of Chris Kearney, Keith Rogers, and Aidan Rogers, had to adapt. But with time on their hands, they regrouped, adding guitarists Alexi Peters and Cam Chung in 2021. This new lineup sparked a creative surge, resulting in their sophomore LP, ‘Memory Card.’ The album explores the complex relationship we have with memories, using catchy melodies and non-linear song structures to reflect on how we perceive our past. From the heartbreak of a broken engagement to the acceptance of loss, Goings confronts these emotions head-on, ultimately aiming to rewrite the narrative and find beauty in our remembrances. Recorded in August 2023, ‘Memory Card’ marks Goings’ return with 10 new songs, ready to take listeners on a journey through the ever-shifting landscape of memory. The album is set to release in September 2024.Sani Bronco: Sani Bronco is a band branded by a half-tame, half-wild mentality. Embracing the duality of heavy rock and indie folk. The band takes influence from a mixed bag such as Bright Eyes, Title Fight, Slowthai, The Rolling Stones, Oso Oso, to name a few. Founder, David Medina says this mix of influences created Sani Bronco’s sound which he dubs “adobe rock” – a genre named after the adobe architecture found in New Mexico, and many parts of Latin America. Saying “it is a good visual representation of what Sani Bronco sounds like. Adobe rock is organic and simple. It’s robust and timeless.” Sani Bronco started as a solo project, but always with the intention of one day making it a full band project. After the release of ‘One Stop Everything Repair Shop,’ David teamed up with Chris Kearney, drummer of Sweet Pill/Goings/typopro, and Kyle Bosler, former guitarist of Goings. They met online through a Facebook group in 2019 and slowly became friends, occasionally messaging back and forth. When it came time to hit the studio in July of 2022, David reached out to Chris Kearney, to join him in writing and recording the next Sani Bronco LP. The new album was made in 30 days at VuDu Recording Studio in Long Island, NY. It was recorded and produced by Frank Mitaritonna who has worked with bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Covet, As Tall As Lions, The Dear Hunter, Thought Crimes, Kevin Devine, and many more. The album was mixed by Billy Mannino at Two Worlds Recordings in Queens, NY. Billy’s most notable work is all of Oso Oso’s discography. Lastly, the record was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in Hudson Valley, NY. Alan has worked with Sufjan Stevens, The Promise Ring, Animal Collective, Converge, Brand New, and many more. The album is set to release in June 2024. Vincent Neil Emerson
– ALL AGES- STANDING ROOM ONLYVINCENT NEIL EMERSON Vincent Neil Emerson has become a staple among folk and country music fans nationwide, celebrated for his honest tales of life on the road, heartbreak, and struggles of all sorts. His first LP, Fried Chicken & Evil Women, from 2019, established him as a refreshing voice in the modern country music landscape. The songs from that first album were charming and playful songs, but didn’t reveal the entirety of Emerson’s story. On his brilliant new album, The Golden Crystal Kingdom, Emerson transcends the role of a honky-tonk country singer and becomes a chronicler of his history. The album is a bold continuation of the story he tells on Vincent Neil Emerson, with songs like the title track exploring the feelings he was left with after his days spent playing in Texas honky-tonks and dancehalls, and the track “The Time of The Rambler,” inspired by the early days of living in his car and busking on the streets. He was born and partly raised in East Texas, around his Choctaw-Apache family, and spent most of his life moving around the state. Raised by a single mother, he lost his father to suicide when he was nine. Emerson dealt with those feelings of abandonment and loss on his self-titled album, with the track “Learning to Drown” in particular. His grandmother and grandfather brought the family to Texas when Emerson’s mother was a child, leaving their ancestral Choctaw-Apache homelands in Louisiana behind to try and build a better life for themselves and their children. Emerson always identified with his Native American roots, but it wasn’t until 2021’s self-titled album that he examined and tried to shed light on the devastating history of his tribe with the song “Ballad of the Choctaw Apache.” As a kid who grew up in a trailer with a single mother, went through bouts of homelessness as a young man, and grinded through countless shows to get where he’s at, Vincent Neil Emerson is never quick to praise his own work ethic. He always refers to the friends, family members, and collaborators who have shown their faith in his vision. But humility doesn’t mean Emerson isn’t one of the hardest working, most talented songwriters to emerge from the alt-country underground in years. His style is one of a kind, and his ability to blend tales of the everyman with tributes to his past, present, and future make him a peerless songwriter. On The Golden Crystal Kingdom, Vincent Neil Emerson carries on the torch of his singer-songwriter forebears while infusing the legacy with his unique and thrilling point of view. NAT MYERS A poet with a staggering and true voice, Korean-American troubadour Nat Myers’ folksy blues and remarkable pickin’ are authentic, timeless, and enduring. The Kenton County, KY native’s delivery harkens to traditional blues giants, but it’s his unique blend of modern roots and Americana that continues to make crowds drop their jaws. Recorded live at the 100-year-old-plus home of producer Dan Auerbach, Yellow Peril is haunted with the ghosts of the rich history of the blues.

It very loosely outlines the story of Arthur, who in real life was the man who married Ray Davies’ sister and convinced her to move to Australia.Not Arthur is a concept album, written and recorded by The Remantlists, which shares only the song titles, in order, of Arthur, by The Kinks. Unsuccessful in his efforts, Arthur is approached by an older musician who has a supernatural offering to lift Arthur’s despair, which turns out to be a plan of revenge.

The Husband and wife front have been touring throughout the US and in UK and EU since 2018. Their third studio album, produced by the legendary Shel Talmy, who worked with the Kinks, The Who and David Bowie amongst other large names was released in August of 2023. Kira Annalise and Willie Heath Neal ( formerly of Willie Heath Neal and The Damned Ol Opry) have played with Dale Watson, Wayne Hancock, Kelley Willis, Summer Dean and Scott H Biram to name a few. Their new album saw songs charting on the Alt-Country Specialty Chart in the top 20 for three weeks in a row and in the top 10 for one week along-side names like Tyler Childers, Colter Wall and Lucinda Williams.
